Breaking Up Through Text(s)

on Sun Jun 24, 2018 1:55 pm
Breaking up through text is impersonal and it shows that the person doing it simply does not care about a response or further conversation. It is “cold” as some would call it and the person doing it more than likely does not feel the need for closure. S/he has already made up his/ her mind that this is the course of action s/he wants to take. There is no going back and “fairness” is out of the window. Many times, “It’s not you, it’s me” is something that is sent and it is all that is needed to say for the other person to get the clue that they are no longer an item. I feel like it is almost as bad as a “Dear John” letter, except a letter actually has some personal connection to it, while a text such as this could not.

Do you think breaking up through texts should be an accepted thing to do in society? Do people actually have a choice? For instance, is there a way back from the break up once it is done over text? If you have ever done this, was it more comfortable breaking up over text than in person? Why?
